A single white acrylic shawl, three gazz long, with an embroidered border along the edge and tassels at the ends. This is a shaadi season and Friday prayers shawl, worn over a kurta pajama where the white has to look clean and the border has to show from a distance. Acrylic does not prickle the neck the way coarse wool can, and it costs less than wool at the same length. It also does not breathe like wool, so it warms up fast and turns close and clammy in a packed hall. White picks up a tea splash or the dust off a car seat straight away, and an embroidered border is not something you can scrub.
