Black wool with embroidery worked along the edges and fringed ends, 3 yards long and 1.25 yards wide, one shawl in the pack. Three yards is the full men's length, so it crosses the chest properly and can be pulled over the head on a cold morning walk. The embroidery only shows when that edge faces outward, which means there is a right and a wrong way to fold and drape it; worn carelessly it looks like a plain black shawl and the detail you paid for disappears. Embroidered thread also catches on a jacket zip, a watch strap or the back of a chair. The supplier states neither the thread used nor the weight of the wool.
